Marian Bear Memorial Park is one of our favorites for engagement and anniversary sessions. It has different access points that have several hidden and tucked away fields with beautiful tall trees. And I love that while most of San Diego doesn’t appear to have much in the way of seasons, the canyon parks can beautifully display fall color, and spring greens.
Back in January, we brought Alex and Huy to the park and it was a sunny, winter day. The fields were a bright platinum blonde, and the trees were barren. But in those winter vibes, it was still quite beautiful and so unique. As the sun went down, the grass just lit up and provided a beautiful backdrop for Alex and Huy.
For their first anniversary session, Huy wore his suit from their wedding, and Alex wore her reception dress and shoes as a memento to remember their wedding day. And then Alex changed to a second dress, a beautiful cold-shoulder, high-low maxi in the perfectly mauve tone to compliment their surroundings at sunset.
Having worked with Alex and Huy before for their engagement and wedding photos, it felt like old friends catching up on life. They are just two of the sweetest people and we were thrilled to be able to document their love again and again.
