An intimate elopement in the Italian countryside might just be one of the most romantic ways to celebrate love. Set in the rolling hills of Umbria, just below the hilltop town of Orvieto, the Italian wedding venue La Badia di Orvieto is a stunning 12th-century abbey turned hotel and restaurant. Halfway between Florence and Rome, the tall stone tower with a striking archway and intimate chapel are surely a sight to see.
For this elopement inspiration, we blended cool and warm tones to perfectly balance the mood and feel of the Italian olive groves set against a stone backdrop on a crisp autumn day.
The sun toyed with us throughout the day as clouds passed quickly above. Although the sky threatened with brief rain and wind, it opened up into a spectacular sunset shining across Orvieto. You won’t want to miss what became a perfect backdrop for our intimate dinner party.
