And truly, there's no shortcut to developing your artistic eye. A good edit won't save a bad image and AI can only get you so far.
Even after learning to shoot strategically, I used to hate my digital images, so when Fujifilm discontinued Pro400h, I was devastated to say the least. I have spent over a decade perfecting hybrid photography and finally found the magic that let's me share digital sneak peeks with confidence.

LET'S BREAK it DOWN
"Before The Elegant Edit, I felt inconsistent, a bit lost, and utilized various techniques to try to mimic film. Now I feel more confident in reading an image, finding the correct adjustments with a smooth workflow, and easily matching my photos to film making my edits much more consistent and true to film. "

Hi, I’m Jackie
I'm a wedding and portrait photographer and coach, and I've been in business for over a decade. I was a scientist who started a photography business and discovered my greater purpose in helping women feel seen, understand their self worth, and live their best lives.

My digital images never matched the beauty I wanted for my couples. I’d wait anxiously for my film scans, using them as a crutch to “anchor” my galleries.
But over years of refining, I developed a method to shoot and edit digital with the elegance of film—without sacrificing true-to-color tones.

Frequently Asked Questions
No! While I have detailed how I edit digital images to match film, the film images are used as references. I included reference images for you to use so that you do not need to shoot film to match the look.
Presets are saved settings adjustments made on an image that can be further modified. A profile is an adjustment made to the base file that alters the way the colors and tones are shown. Once a profile is applied, the overlaying settings such as Exposure and White Balance can be adjusted. A preset of these adjustments with the profile can then be saved.
Yes, the editing steps are showing the Archetype Process Green Pack profiles. Install Green Pack and TAP Natural.
The methods can still apply. I will teach you about the differences in Fuji and Portra scans and how to edit Portra 400 to look like Fuji400h. You may want to use the Yellow Pack profiles. Portra colors are different so results will vary.
My favorite black and white film is Ilford Delta 3200 for its classic and soft tones. The grain is intense so it's not for every situation. Ilford Delta 400 is gorgeous and more refined. In the course, I explain how I edit with the Ilford Delta profile in the Monochrome Pack to achieve a dreamy and classic black and white edit. And my preset for turning color film into a timeless black and white image.
I totally get it! There are so many gimmicks out there nowadays suggesting one-click edits, or AI-powered results. The methods in this course took me years to develop and I want you to see and understand light and color in a new way. If you still have questions, I'm all ears!
