The Pre-Session Consultation
Our journey begins with a video call consultation, where we’ll discuss your inspirations, how you wish to look, and most importantly, how you want to feel. We’ll explore outfit options together, ensuring we select pieces that resonate with your style and comfort. This consultation is vital, as it allows me to understand your preferences and craft a session that aligns with your vision, incorporating various backdrops and wardrobe selections from my curated client closet.
Preparing for the Day
A week before your session, you’ll receive an email detailing the logistics — what to bring, the location, and the start time. The session takes place in my Capitol Hill studio in Seattle, an all-white sanctuary bathed in natural light. With its beautiful window light, pristine white walls, and an array of props like a bed, chairs, and stools, the studio offers a perfect setting for your boudoir photo session.
Hair and Makeup
Should you choose to indulge in hair and makeup services, you’ll arrive at the studio before your session begins. The makeup artist will pamper you, while you enjoy sparkling wine and slippers. I recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing to avoid any marks on your skin, ensuring you look flawless in your session outfits.
Wardrobe Selection
You’ll bring your favorite lingerie pieces, complemented by an assortment of robes, chemises, veils for bridal boudoir, and sheer fabrics from my collection. During our consultation, we’ll discuss your wardrobe preferences, and I’ll prepare a selection tailored to your tastes. We typically capture up to three outfits, but there’s always room for spontaneity. For instance, adding a robe over a lacy white set could create an entirely new look. Together, we’ll blend your choices with mine to craft a capsule that makes you feel both comfortable and glamorous.
Creating the Perfect Atmosphere
Music sets the tone for our session, and I’ll curate a playlist based on your preferences discussed during the consultation. Whether you lean towards a serene, relaxed ambiance or a lively, empowering beat, the music will enhance the mood and create an atmosphere that reflects your personality.
Posing and Direction
Throughout the shoot, I’ll provide gentle guidance on posing, ensuring each image captures your natural grace and beauty. I think of each woman as a sculpture, and it’s my job to craft each pose to highlight your features. I’ll direct you on hand placement and body positioning, with a keen eye for creating timeless and sophisticated compositions.
The Experience
This session is designed to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience. While it’s natural to feel a bit nervous initially, many women leave the session feeling exhilarated and empowered. I offer constant encouragement and support, helping you embrace your inner beauty and confidence.
I hope this guide provides a glimpse into the elegance and empowerment you’ll experience during your boudoir session. It’s a journey of self-discovery and celebration, and I’m honored to be part of it. Thank you for entrusting me with this special time in your life.
