Seattle is a city where old-world charm meets modern love, and Greer and Spencer’s engagement session brought that harmony to life. We began at Smith Tower, Seattle’s first skyscraper and a symbol of classic Americana. Its Art Deco details and sweeping views made the perfect backdrop for a couple who values both history and romance.
Inside, the golden elevator doors and marble staircases added a touch of vintage glamour to their portraits. Greer’s elegant white dress shimmered in the light, while Spencer’s sharp suit brought a sense of timeless sophistication to the moment. Together, they moved through the space with such natural ease. What stood out most was their balance—playful laughter one moment, then an unmistakable tenderness the next. It made their portraits feel not only elegant but also so authentically them.

From there, we stepped onto the Virginia V, a steamship that has sailed Seattle’s waters for nearly a century. With the lake sparkling around us, Greer and Spencer leaned into each other against the railings, champagne glasses in hand, laughter carrying on the breeze. There’s something about being on the water that slows time down, and aboard the Virginia V, their session took on a relaxed, celebratory feel.

What made this session so special was how the locations reflected not just the city’s history, but also Greer and Spencer’s own vision. This year, they’ll be married at The Admiral’s House, another iconic Seattle landmark with that same classic Americana charm. (You can see more from another wedding I’ve photographed at the Admiral’s House here.) Choosing Smith Tower and the Virginia V for their engagement portraits felt like the perfect prelude to the chapter ahead.
If you’re dreaming of your own engagement session in Seattle, I’d love to help you choose a location that reflects your story. From historic landmarks to hidden gardens, Seattle offers so many ways to capture your love in a meaningful and unforgettable way.
