Hey there

Rachael and Casey’s engagement session near San Diego was one for the books! We had such a fun time hanging out with them at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park where we trekked through some wilderness to find the perfect spots for photos. We are so glad they were willing to hike around with us because that Southern California sun did not disappoint and we got some gorgeous light! Here’s a little bit about them from Rachael:

How did you two meet? “We met in undergrad at UCSD. We were always in the same circle but it wasn’t until junior year that we started dating. We had bio lab together and he first approached me at a bonfire. I was sitting by myself and he just came over and started talking to me. He asked me the weirdest questions like pen or pencil, beach or pool, winter or summer. So I always say started with a spark and the rest was history. ”

Tell us about your engagement session! “For the photoshoot, I knew I wanted a lighter palette and something nature-y. I actually bought my dress a year prior because I just thought it’d be a really good dress for something wedding related. At the time we weren’t even engaged yet. He actually put his outfit together hours before the shoot and went shopping the day of. That was stressful but I think it turned out really well. I was unsure about the hat but he told me to bring it anyways and I’m glad I did.

I felt like we were both a little awkward at first because we’ve never done a photoshoot before but it didn’t take long for us to loosen up and I think the pictures came out awesome! I was a little nervous about film photography (whether it’d be enough shots to choose from, editing, how our poses looked since we can’t view it, etc) but I love how it looked.”

What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day? “I’m really excited to just have a good time with everyone. I really hope everyone has a blast. We are so blessed to have the love and support from our friends and family. I can’t wait to celebrate with them because we all know how long we’ve been waiting for this day! And I can’t wait to see what you guys capture from the day.”

Rachael and Casey, you two make such a cute couple and we are so excited for your wedding day later this fall!
